Simulation of red tide drift-diffusion process in the Pearl River Estuary and its response to the environment

A particle tracking model for the Lingdingyang Bay of Pearl River Estuary (PRE) was established based on Delft3D model. The initialized with remote sensing images to simulate red tide drift-diffusion process in this sea area autumn 2020 and analyze its response tides, winds runoffs. results show that occurred central Bay. drifted south ebb north flood tide. spread northward waters near Humen southward western Zhuhai. Through control variable experiments, it is found mainly affected by wind, minimal influence from runoff. expanded scope diffusion, wind further changed distribution Under northeast gathered both sides Comparison Shenzhen Airport shows Neilingding Island easily diffused toward surrounding waters.
